Reading what you are going through Dean completely reminds me of what I went through with my mom and what my sister and I had to endure during her last days. Both hospice and the hospital were a-holes to deal with and i swear they got away with murder also. My mom's condition turn a hard left turn with the foot on the accelerator as soon as she went on their medication. It was hard too as I fought the no resuscitation order also. My heart goes out to you buddy. It seems God works in mysterious ways don't he.

That is a tough decision. If Suzy isn't asking where her mom is then I would probably not mention anything but if she is wondering why she hasn't seen her in a while then maybe you can tell her but just not the full extent of her sickness. Maybe you could tell Suzy that her mom hasn't been feeling well or something, just to ease the blow. If it's any consolation Dean, it seems that my family and friends are dropping like flies all around me. Stay strong Dean, for we are being tested. It's why you are where you are. Everything happens for a reason. Remember that. I find when the world gets too heavy I jump in my truck and go somewhere and take it all in. Sometimes I end up deep in the bush or sometimes at some pub far away in another town. Stay close to God, He really does have your back. We just can't see the future like He can. Trust Him.

Hey Dean, I remember my mom when she died from cancer back in 2009, same thing, she looked like a skeleton with skin with a super narrow face and when she passed her jaw was wide open and her tounge hanging out just the same. I thought that was how I was going to remember her forever but that image in my mind has passed when all it did was haunt me, so in time your mind will settle down and the good memories will remain, trust me. I would say losing your mom is comparable to losing a spouse. In time you will be able to laugh again and get back to normal I promise. And when you start going through Suzie's stuff make sure you have someone with you, trust me. Don't go at that alone. Just my opinion.

We all live in the moment and right now for Dean it feels like the end of the world but it will pass. Decades of memories can't never be undone or wiped clean in a moment - not even by death. It just takes time for the mind to calm down and get back to normal because Dean, life will get back to normal my friend - I promise! Just do as RCC said, keep them hands busy because wrenching on something is sometimes better that having certain people around.
P.S - STAY AWAY FROM THAT SAPPY MUSIC SHIT ALSO!!!! PUT ON SOME HEAVY METAL!!! Two women broke my heart and both times I would isolate myself and listen to that sappy music shit that just made me actually cry and be depressed and want to jump out a building. Dont listen to sappy music.
