You bring up a very valid point tho. Plus... what IS in the bag? ie: McDonalds or Whole Foods? They could be giving her stuff that just doesn't agree with her.l just got my morning report , not much happened over night but the nurse this morning is washing her hair and suzy is smiling [ suzy loves to have her hair stroked and scalp massaged ]
also here is some info that the nurse just let slip , suzy is on a feeding tube and they just found out the stuff they are pumping/suctioning [ every few hours ] out of her lungs is the feed bag contents , so they stopped feeding [ for now ] now the juicy part and l quote= thats what they think caused the cardiac arrest , she puked up into her lungs and she couldn't breath
a little history / suzy has had gastro intestinal problems for years , they know this as thats where she has been going for treatment , l told them this when she was 22 days in the covid ward , now l,m putting 2 and 2 together and they called me Wednesday evening because suzy was in distress and wanted to do a face time badly , we got thru it and suzy wanted her "orange" pills , the only orange pills suzy takes are her stomach pills to keep her from puking [ she puked up all the time if she forgot to take them ]
so thats what l thing caused it was the bad SHIT that their feeding her , l asked the nurse if the bag stuff could be bad , she said NO its got a DATE on it , then l asked her if she every bought something that was BAD but still had a good date on it , and she said YES she had , then l asked her again could the bag shit be bad , she said it could be possible
l,m just wondering if other patients are getting sick from the stuff
dont mind me l,m just rambling , the bag stuff could be good and it was just suzy
It's a tough call. With the media in smear mode you don't want the media to make the hospital look worse than it actually is. It sounds like you got your situation worked out with them. Maybe go to the hospital upper brass and talk with them to make sure people know when they come in what their rights are and don't deviate from them or you will go to the media. After all, the hospital may be in fear of what the govt will do if they don't follow the COVID protocol. You could however make a copy of that and if you see others in the area where your wife is or was you could hand it out.l still don't know what to do with this info , should l rock the boat and stand in the lobby and tell everyone that walks in about their rights or go to the press and have them print the whole sorted story , it would probly ruin the hospital
what do you guys think l should do
Yes, there are times you have to get in their face and threaten malpractice before they open their eyes and care (...about their pocketbook. Hit'm where it hurts!)morning report , she did fine over night with no issues [ meaning NO food bag stuff in her lungs ]
So sorry Dean. I hope you have family and friends around you to physically help you thru this. GOD's blessing and continued prayers for you and Suzie.yesterdays visit was lack luster as suzy was tuckered out and sleeping, they brought her down in the morning for a battery of brain scans and also to see the neurology Doctors , they did this so they could have the results for when l showed up , so the cool Doc comes in with the report , to say the least it's not good , the brain damage is mainly in her cerebellum and part of her brain stem , too where she lacks the ability to breath on her own and why she cant raise her arms or legs [ she can't just scratch the top of her head or kick her feet in the air ] this is something we take for granted and do without thinking [ breathing and scratching our ass ] but she does have some motor skills , she can wiggle her feet , barely move her right arm and only a gentle squeeze from her hand , her left arm is a little better she can bent it at the elbow and wave and a pretty decent squeeze , it's was not a very good report and the Doc said those functions may never come back
so as l stand there crying two security guards walk in and stand at the foot of the bed and in walks Mr doom an gloom with the case worker [ she is the one l had the argument with the other day about moving suzy ] and the 'patient relations lady" so this was our meeting [ l was trapped like a rat , no lawyer or reporter ] and they laid down the law and told me exactly what was gonna happen , she was gonna be moved but being this late in the week , they may or may not wait till Monday , Mr doom an gloom looked right at me and said OK , l sheepishly said yup
l had 3 choices flatten both security guards or jump on/over suzy in the bed to get my hands on him , or just stand there and cry , and thats what l did . and everyone quietly left
She's lucky to have you Dean. My hats off to you.so when l left yesterday there was a "packet" of paper work for me to look over and sign , l brought to my lawyer friend to look them over [ told him l needed them back by noon tomorrow and he said l,m lucky it's Friday night and to start buying rounds ] so he go's thru everything and marks what is good to sign , except 1 about finances and charges , he hy-lights the differences and depreciations in the paper work and there was a few , so l get to the N/H and at the front desk l ask for the "business agent" lady , she comes out and reaches for the paper work and l tell her not everything is signed and we hafta go over a few things , so we/l,m paying $310.00 bucks a day for the respirator that in my eyes is a piece of shit , the "business lady" admits to me it is not new or updated and all they have , she also tells me she saw suzy the day before and DID notice that the machine bothered suzy , so l said what we gonna do about and also at the hospital they where sucking/vacuuming suzy's lungs once an hour , because the other day l showed up and there was "spit/flem running out of her neck and her mouth was half full also , l tell her we either new a new machine or we gotta do something about moving it , she makes a phone call and says lets go see suzy , we get there at the exact time as the respiratory dude and we walk in , spit/flem was running down suzy's neck and her mouth was full , the "lady" saw this and the "dude" said damn , you could see suzy was in distress , he quickly vacuumed her mouth and lugs out [ at this time l was fuk'n MAD and ready to kill the "dude" ] the lady quickly shuffled him out of the room and they were yelling at each other in the hall [ couldn't hear much they closed the door ] besides l was crying and try'in to sooth/calm suzy down , the lady comes back in and says EVERTHING is/will be straightened out , we talk for awhile [ mainly about sucking/vacuuming her lungs once an hour ] and the "dude" sheepishly comes back in and has a "muffler" that go's on the machine [ quiets it down by half ] and we move the end table that holds all the machine supplies to the foot of the bed under the TV [ they gotta walk right by it to get to the machine and not like it's out of the way ] and we move the machine back towards the wall away from suzy [ she can barely hear it now ] and easily accessible by the staff , so after all that l got to visit with suzy and l didnt notice till then that she had a Giant Smile on her face and was happy l stood up to these people [ in a perfect world this shit should NOT happen and people should do there jobs ] suzy actually got better care at the hospital and they tried to kill her [ go figure ] suzy fell fast asleep and my visit was over
Kurt, you don't realize how much algebra you use when calculating materials on the job.A little humor is a good thing.
A little math... not so much.
All those years of math in school didn't really help me in the real world.
Figuring square footage is the most common math I use.
That, and figuring out what people owe me. ☺
LOL. I know I was off. I haven't done a sizeable rock job in a while. I have used the boxes but with just small at home remodels now, a small bucket gets me by.Nope ... I don't.
I know what those items cost.
So it's adding and multiplication.
Sheetrock is right about 3+x what you said. 4'x 12'x 5/8"
Don't use buckets of mud... boxes. Less money than buckets.
Close on the tape... 500' rolls.
Nails are so Mesozoic Era. Screws are far superior. More expensive though.
I suppose your right.
Very simple algebra though.
That's happy and sad news.yesterdays visit was great as she was more wide awake than she has been in a week or so , she must have been fighting the infections since she left the hospital , only one problem that l noticed , if she turns her head to the left she passes right out , if l straighten it or turn her head to the right she wakes right up , l,m thinking it has something to do with the brain stem damage , but she didn't do it before the infection , l,ll ask the Doc today
We love improvements! Go Suzie!yesterdays visit was also interesting , l found out [ nobody at the N/H told/informed me ] with suzy do'in much better [ infections just about gone ] she is more WIDE awake than she has ever been [ she stays eyes open for an hour or better and only occasionally conks out ] that they will set me up with a machine and all the supplies and training to take suzy home , now there is tons of stuff to do before that even happens , but it will put our 3 PCA's back to work and save me money on gas traveling back and forth , l mentioned it yesterday to the respiratory dude and later that day the "social worker" called me to start the process and it's in the works [ might takes weeks or a month but thats fine ] as l have a 100 days till the insurance runs out [ well minus the 14 days she has been there ]
Well that's a movie tear jerker moment. So happy for you both that you can communicate now.he came back and put it in and it was not her voice but it was music to my ears when she said "l love you" l was so happy for her l broke down and started crying
You are your wife's hero Dean. God bless you!so yesterday morning l get there and the machine is turned down to were it should be [ 30ml ] but suzy is still laying there in pain holding her gut crying , l get the nurse , she says the machine is turned down , l tell her that suzy is plugged up and ask whens the last time she pooped , she go.s and checks and says it been awhile , l have her pull the feed tube to see what we get [ nothing sprays out ] so she grabs the large syringe to see what she can suck out and its straight stomach acid , which proves suzy is plugged up [ constipated ] from being over feed [ l had them give suzy some liquid Rolaid's ] and the nurse said they would either do a suppository or enema
the afternoon visit was a little better as suzy past GAS earlier and was feeling much better
