you know the plug where the dipstick would go that is just above the pan on the left side of the block on a big block truck? I think mine is leaking and id like to try and fix it, how is that held in? Is it just pressed in or is it threaded? mine has a hex head like a bolt. also is it above the oil level or if I pull it out will oil pour out?

Stock truck big blocks used a pressed in plug, no telling what was done to plug the hole if it's a car engine. I tap the block and use a 1/8" pipe plug myself. The hole is above oil level so you can remove the bolt or whatever was used and reseal it without oil pouring out.
