What is the wattage rating on these speakers? (nominal and max) If they are too underpowered you may be disappointed. Most head units put out bewteen 25w and 45w max per channel, which translates to 12w or 20w nominal per channel. If these speakers are 100w max and 50w nominal they will be severely underpowered and will likely not sound great. (an amp can fix that)
That said, I run pioneer 6x9 4-ways in my truck, but with an amp supplying them with 50 watts nominal. They sound good, but I also but the bass off from them at 125 Hz...
