I want to know what needs to be done to change to a NV4500. I just bought a small block late model NV4500 4X4 transmission with bellhousing. I have a 82 W-150 with NP435 and NP208. I am also changing to a 360 from a 318 at the same time.

I know the cross-member mounts aren't the same and that the NV4500 uses a hyd. clutch set up.

Any advice or part numbers for parts I will need would be a big help.

Might want to switch to the newer T-case. NP241 I think it is called. They used it after the NP208. May simplify things a little. You can get one in the J/Y from an early 90's Ram. I am not sure exactly. You would be able to get the cross member too, because the T-cases came with either the Getrag 5 speed or the NV4500 depending on the year.

the 360 flywheel partnumber is made by B&M. You can get that part number in the 318 to 360 swap FAQ posted on this site by gunpilot. I used it specifically when I switched from my 318 to 360 behind an A727 without any problems. It's an aftermarket part and bolts up to just about everything, with all the optional bolt holes you have in it...

I have all the 360 conversion parts.

Will the early 90's crossmember bolt into my 82.

The transmission I got is probably out of a later model RAM which would have the trasnfer case drop on the driver side, will this cause a problem?

Do the clutch discs have the same spline count?

Will the overall length of the drivetrain be the same affecting my driveshafts?
