So the carb on my 87 dakota with a 3.9 is plugged up,while I could clean it I would be back to the same crappy MPG because the feedback carb really isn't adjustable. I plan on heading up to the local self service yard and I was wondering what would be a good vehicle to look under the hood for a non feedback 2 barrel carb that would bolt up to the existing manifold?

so I found a chinesium BBD that went right on.Anyway it has a long 1/8" vaccum port on the right side of the carb roughly in the middle of the carb near the choke rod, any idea what that is for?

I believe that port would be for vacuum advance. it should be a ported/timed vacuum source that only gets vacuum when the throttle is partially opened
