My speedometer has been making a loud grinding noise when it’s cold. I installed a new cable last week and everything quieted down however the noise came back today as loud as ever. Should I try another cable or does this sound like possibly the gears in my speedometer have worn out?

What did you lubricate the new cable with?

The new cable didn’t say it needed to be lubed. I still have some left over cable lube from a previous job I can try. Hopefully I didn’t mess the new cable up
