I checked out a non-runner '76-'77 Ramcharger, but was surprised to see that it didn't have a 4x4 shifter on the floor.

I looked underneath to see the forward solid axle.

Is this something people have seen in 4x4s or is this likely a 2WD conversion?  Maybe a full time 4x4 with no lockers perhaps?

One note: the forward driveshaft was missing, but I think I recall the interface from the transfer case lining up.  I didn't give it much thought at the time because the rear driveshaft was so bent I figured this hulk was just being used for parts.

4WD from the factory would have had a shifter.  After 40 years of parts swapping, anything is possible.
