88 ramcharger ....I need help solving this one.i hope this is a common and easily solved problem.at 65 this ramcharger will start to vibrate.i put new rims and tires on,shocks, and rear drums.after changing the old wheels to the new ones i thought i had it fixed untill i filled up on a full tank of gas and the vibration was still there.i drove it at 70 and put it into neutral but still had the vibration.i even swaped drive shafts with another charger but it was the same.the truck is not perfectly smoothe at lower speeds but nothing to complain about untill 65 and it will vibrate you out of the truck.this is a 2 wheel drive so no transfer case to consider.could it be an axle or would i here a noise from the beering.any help would be greatfull.

All your front end in decent shape like the tie rod ends and ball joints ? Those will make the ole girl wander pretty bad . Also bad vibes can come from bad engine mounts (the rubber isolator ) might have rotted away . Also tranny mount still in one piece ? U can get a poly urethane bushing kit would help eliminate any bad rubber bushings on your rig .

BrianT has good suggestions.

Also check your upper and lower control arm bushings.

Do you have a side to side vibe or up and down vibe?

If it is side to side, check out your steering box and make sure it is bolted tightly to the frame rail.

Check or replace your rag joint as well and make sure the steering shaft is not loose as a goose.

Most likely it is a combination of small flaws that are making the problem evident.

while you're under there, check the rear end. shaking all the time? could be the bearings are shot.
