Napa ignition parts, junk

I bought a set of napa plug wires, a dist. cap, and rotor from them about 2 months ago, for my '77 318 Power Wagon. The parts lasted me less then a month, worst $60.00 I've ever spent. The cap is the only thing still on the truck. I'll buy they're other stuff, but never electrical components again.

I've been buying all my ignition parts from Napa for years, and have never had a problem with them.
me either

Go to Autozone and buy a car and rotor set, made by Conrad, for your engine. These parts have brass instead of auminum and are not near as much as Napa parts but are just as good. I run them all the time with no problems. Only $12.99 too.

RT and HT, I don't know, I've never had probs. with any of they're other stuff, but these parts were crap. Maybe I just caught a batch of bad stuff? The rotor was burnt to hell, and had less than 200 miles on it.

Napa stuff use to be made by Echlin. not sure if they still are. Did you have a choice of premium or regular grade parts? I read that Echlin distributor caps are the same as the Accel caps. Whatever brand you buy make sure they have brass terminals
Yeah, they offer several grades of parts to compete with the other stores Chinese junk. You need to buy the premium brand of parts. The guy behind the counter will sell you the cheap stuff because he thinks he's doing you a favor. They also carry performance caps and rotors that i have listed on the parts link. Accel makes a great cap and rotor set with brass terminals. Autozone used to be the cheapest for this set. I have had no problems with NAPA ignition stuff. You get what you pay for?

Same here. I grew up using napa ignition parts. Recently, I switched for better parts but never really had a problem with the Echlin brand.
Standard Blue Streak is the only way to fly.

Yeah, they're still Echlin. Says so right on the box. I'm going to MSD and Accel stuff from now on.

I know it is a while ago but in 86 (yes 86) I removed the original Dodge cap and rotor from my 85 RC - which was still working fine - and replaced them with a NAPA cap and rotor. Two weeks later the cross fire was so bad the truck would not run. Replacements did the same, so back on went the original and all was fine. I did get my money back though
Well, I have had the same problems.  Put a new cap n Rotor on my mom's jeep, rotor was junk and really cheap, as was the cap.  For my RC I bought a starter from Napa and it came w/ a bad solenoid.  Boy that sure ticked me off!  I agree though, they have good parts, just stay away from their electrical stuff.  My .02
