hey Cool truck, reminds me of my 83 except I went to the newer 98 sport blue... theres a pic of it in the forum. If you know the 400 is good maybe you should just freshing it up. new gaskets seals, oil pump, etc.... go with a cam and headers if you want to give it a lil more umph :) If you order the stuff from summit it shouldn't cost you too much,,, I know it didn't when I put my 318 in. Oh I almost forgot.... you said you had to cut holes in your tail light black outs, try what i did.... they complained when I blacked mine out (i just used that lens black out in a can) i added a third brake light under my tailgate handle... Sucks to be the cops here in Ontario... they tried to ticket me for it and ended up looking stupid when they found out it was legal :p
hope that helps anyone (if the law is the same in your state/province)

hey, you should supe up the 400 first, cuz you already have a driver, the 318 works, right? So stick the 400 in the garage, and build it as you go, the more time, the more money, the more performance, right. My thoughts...

well i have some good news and some bad news first the good i installed the possey rear and it's to sweet nothing but hook up and gone. now for the bad news i sent the 400 away to get redone and it turns out the block is crack on the number 6 cylinder so so i'm out of luck :-[ and the search continues. i might just send away a 318 and get it stroked punched out and balanced but that's just an other idea i've been kicking around not to sure yet.

too bad about the 400, youcan get it welded, if you go to the right people. my auto shop teacher had his 396 welded, and he said the people who did his, also were eorking on a crushed corvette engine, it came in with the block in 20 pieces, from the # 6 cyl back!

yah i think i remember him talking about that wasn't there alse like a baseball sized hole in the side of the corvette block punched right through and they fixed it. may be cheaper and more convenient to get it welded rather than find another

While at school I met a guy who has a lowering kit for my ram and it's dirt cheap! Just the way things should be. With my current status as a college student money is tight so it might have to wait. But he said that he would hold on to it for me "SWEET". So this summer i hope to start operation slammed ram ;). The drop will be 6 rear and 3 or more front.
and for my hunt for a new engine well i hit a brick wall, the old 318 seems to be holding on so we'll see what the future brings.

Good looking truck, Hey where did you get your rollpan, Is it steel or fiberglass and how do you like it personaly I think it looks great.
;D ;D ;D
The rollpan is made by lund and it's fiberglass. i think it's great it gives my truck the sleak look i was going for. it was a bit of a pain i had to make brackets because the pre drilled holes were in the wrong places they were to close to the roll pan to put in the bolts.

Well mopar fans i have some sad news after 21 year of service my truck has been put on the temporarily deceased. the timing chain jumped and i bent my rods and valves, so in other words i did a gooder. but the good news is i was able to find a 400 big block that is in awsome condition it only has 16,000 kms and the best part is i got it for bottle of wiskey and getting it out of his yard. i figured well i'm at it i may as wellput in a new tranny soi have ordered a new 727 with a shift kit, for that extra little punch! oh yeah and i have a new paint job in the works it will be dupont mystify green and purple.

So due to the fact that i lost my old log in ages ago and can't get into my old account i'm just going to continue one were i left off. so any way i made a huge score today i bought a 1984 ram 150 for a parts truck asides from missing a few minor parts from the motor it's a very solid truck. it has 66,000km on the truck it was also garage kept and i only paid 300$ for it. so now with any luck by the end of summer i'm going to have the motor and tranny dug out of the 1984 and dropped into my 1982. not to mention stealing what ever i need for body pannels.

Well here's a quick pic i snapped with my cell of the old girl after i dug her out of the shop which has been her hidding place for the last 2 years.

Good lookin' truck.  Brings a tear to my eye. Had an '83 D-150 for years, Nightwatch Blue, chrome wheels, 318,then a 400,then a hot 383,then a hotter 440 and 4.88s, then it morphed into a 3/4 ton 360. Wife crashed it. Still pissed at her after three years.

Truck saved her life, she got hit in the driver's door by an old Impala doing about 60, got three small cuts on her head and that's it.  Shoved the nose on the Impala in almost to the firewall and buckled the top, they got out with minor injuries.  'Ol Blue would still start and drive, but it bent the frame and mangled the cab and bed.

    RIP 'Ol Blue. :'(

Here are a few pic of the 1984 that will soon be my parts truck. it's almost a shame to part it out. oh well the 1982 has sentimental value.
