Ok, il get those blocks out of there as soon as i can!! Sounds like somethin real bad could happen.

And something is realy messed up with the tail light, heres what hapens, when lights are on they dont turn on, if lights are on and blinker is on they both pulsate dim, bright, dim, bright... If light are off and blinker is on they both flash on and off. if brakes pushed they light up like they are suposed to, If hazzards are on they flash like they are suposed to. Tomarow I am going to a friends house to get it so the tail lights work when the head lights are on, Im not to worryed about the blinker thing, If I realy need to signal I can use hand signals lol

Sounds like somebody has messed up the wiring a bit on the lights. Get a tester and check your voltages on the different wires in different stages of use: turn on, parking lights on, hazzard on, brakes with parking on, brakes with parking off, etc.

i would have to agree with randall. in my opinion, the key is to not do anything to bring the police to my door, whether it be the door to my house or the door to my vehicle. if all your lights work the way they should, the police won't be as likely to bug you or bust you (for anything, lol). but then, some people like living life a little more on the edge...

I figured out what was wrong with the tail lights, the ground in the back for the lights came loose, the fuse didnt have a good connection (just had to take it in and out a few times) and the flasher needed to be changed. On thursday or friday i am going to go back over to my friends house and we are going to re-wire all the lights on top and etc.. The guy that owned it before me did a complety wack wireing job and practly nothing works, but that will change soon . and about the axles, they arent stock cuz they are 8 lug, but im not sure what they are since I dont know to much about that stuff.

Thats a trail rider if I ever saw one. A real nice rig just to blast threw some trails. Have fun! and yeah remove the blocks (fun...good! blocks...bad!)

if you want a cheap temporary substitute fo the front blocks(BAD idea) get drop shackles at pep boys etc. theyre stronger than they look too.

that rear is not standard, that is easy to tell b/c 83 RCs were all 1/2 ton and had the 5 lug pattern. That looked to me like a dana 60 in the rear but i am by no means an expert in that area. It looks like whoever had that truck before you put the time into beefing up the drivetrain and that is good news for you. but as had been said before, loose the front blocks ...they are very dangerous.

I am on my first truck.. i bought it for 1000 $ too! .. umm i got mine a week ago goodluck .... and how do you know if your front has blocks? i dont want them if it is dangerous!

just got my first truck today , I rolled my car one and a half times 3 weeks ago, and after borrowing money from my mom I got an 84 R/C prospector, 33's, dual exhaust w/ glass packs, etc...for $1000. Only thing is i dont think the motor has to much time left in its life so im gona have to start savin just in case. here are the pics that I have so far.

Looks like dana 60 or 70 rear end, and the 'blocks' on the front almost look lik esomeone put shims in backwards........maybe due to the axle swap ??

but it ain't a dodge dana 44 front end for sure

If you are looking for a replacement engine I have a 1975, 318 that was bored over .060" runs great. It is complete from the carb to the Tranny. I need to get rid of it to make room in the garage. (440 going into the truck) I am about 20 miles north of Milwaukee. $275 you can have the tranny, T-case, carb, manifold and engine.

hey man, whoever owned that ramcharger insulted dodge by putting a chevy(junk) 10 bolt under the front.That is definately a chevy 10 bolt under the front.Im gonna say that is a dana 60 under the back,though u cant tell unless you look for a tag on the cover or it is usually cast into the brace on the bottom below the diff cover.
