My friend's `89 was once that small. He loves his truck too, just over 200K on the 3L. Its now perched atop Dana 60s and 38s and, IIRC 11" of lift. ;D
Yeah, some folks have tried to convince me to lift my truck and put bigger tires on it, but I've kept it stock. It just runs so well as it is! I've never gotten it stuck off-road either. ::)

I agree, Toyota trucks may look wimpy compared to a big Dodge truck, but looks won't get you to work! It has been my experience that Dodges are high-maintenance vehicles - something's always needing to be fixed on them, especially after they get over 100K on the odometer. I've had the Toyota for over 10 years, and I've only had three major repairs: clutch, timing chain, and fuel sending unit. Other than that it's been regular maintenance and tires. Right now, the Toyota is the most reliable vehicle I have, and for the dollar, it's been the least expensive of all my vehicles to keep on the road. When this truck was new, it had the highest ground clearance of any other truck its size, which makes it a great off-road vehicle. It's never been stuck as long as I can keep all four tires on the ground! ;D
