My 89' Ram Charger is running just fine but rite when i start running the heat or vent for like say the first 2 minuits or so you get blasted with the smell of coolant burning off like maybe on the exhaust manifold or somthing. The problem is that i've looked and i'm not leaking a drop and my coolant level hasn't dropped and this has been goin on for 4 months or so now, Any Idea's?

nope no coolant on the floor i had that happen to me on a s-10 blazer i used to have but i'm not sure if its the core, cause its more of a burning smell like its from the engine compartment like when your out side it you can smell that sweet coolant smell if your near the front , leaky radiator??

You know, I've got the same thing going on w/ my '89 RC. One of my rad. hoses blew up during the summer and sprayed coolant everywhere. Fixed it. Being the work of art it was, the radiator got replaced as well. Completed 3500 mile trip home and now the stench is there. I'm putting my vote in with the heater core being the malfunction here.
