truck small miss at idle and in over-drive 98 Ram 150 4X4 I've replaced plugs, wires, coil, intake gasket.cap, rotor, used injector cleaner it's done this from the time it's was new but getting worse. any ideas?
I'd try to isolate the miss. Is it consistently on the same cylinder? Engine to chasis grounds intact? Does the miss rotate through the cylinders. Go around and pull plug wires individually and see if they fire. If they do, it could be a bad distributor...maybe a faulty bushing in the distributor that's allowing the distributor shaft to wobble and throw things off. This can also happen with the distributor bushing in the engine.
Pull the codes....also look at this Service Bulletin http://www.dodgeram.info/tsb/1998/18-48-98.htm
Might also look under the hood at night and see if you see any parks from the plugs/wires etc. They will show up in the dark if bad enough. I know you already replaced the wires but there was a routing problem that caused cross fire and induction problems. Also take a good look through all the Service Bulletins on this site. http://www.dodgeram.info/tsb
