i want to get a set of the bilstein 5150's and was wondering how you figure out what length you need. on my truck it is 22 inches from the top to the bottum shock mount and was wondering if i should get the shock that measures 25.91 extended and 15.89 collapsed or ones that measure 29.70 extended and 17.78 collapled???

thanks for any help

jack up one tire till you start to left another tire, that should be a good on collapsed, then jack up the truck from the bumper and that should give you a good extended measurement. But to do it right, take the shocks off first before you do these things.

more travel won't help you if you can't use it.

Call rocky mountain suspension, and let them tell you what length you need, then get the shocks you want as close to that as possible.

If you want more droop, then get a shock with longer travel, and make sure you put a good bump stop on it to keep it from compressing too much and damaging the shock.

if you want more compression, then you will loose droop.
