Hi. I'm new here. Sorry if this has been covered before.
I have an 87 R/C (The Beast) with an NP 208 transfer case and CAD. I am considering adding manual hubs. Is there anything else I will have to do to complete this mod?
Also, do any of you know of any good sources for rust repair panels for it? I need panels for both rear lower quarters and both rockers.
Thanks!

u dont need to do anything else to install the manual hubs, but some people do lock the CAD in place to prevent it from failing at an inoportune time. check the FAQs and for how to do that. and check JCwhitney for rust repair panels. they have a few, and mostly for trucks, but they might have what u are looking.

to me, its personal preferance. i personally would not put them on, because i like the simplicity of the full time hub set up on the CAD axle. KThaxton put some on his rig so that he could have 2lo (leaving the hubs unlocked while in 4lo yeilds 2lo) some people put them on to prevent the front axleshafts and spider gears from spinning, which some claim raises mpg. and some people put them on beacuse the CAD is broke, so they lock it and use manual hubs.

Thanks for the input. I don't know that it will do much good to install the hubs, since it has the vacuum lock. I guess I'll wait on that one. Thanks, too, to Robo for the link.
