Will a newer style 11" flywheel off a 360 Magnum work with an older 360? This conversion is for a '70 Satellite that had factory 318 and 4 sp manual. The trans has 11" clutch, and the car is being converted to a 360, keeping the 4sp. Thanks.

Yes, and no. It'll bolt in, but the Magnum 360 requires less external weight for balancing, so you'd need to have the flywheel re-balanced with more weight. Any reputable machine shop can handle this.

Well the problem they are having is that there's a vibration in the car. They were thinkin it was the flywheel. So they called today and I looked up an 11" flywheel for a 360, and the only one I could find was for a Magnum pickup. So I don't know. Maybe I'll tell them to try the Mag FW, and have it re-balanced, but what would a reputable machine shop use for a reference? Have them balance it like the old-style 360 FW?

Yeah, balance for the LA 360. Also, something to consider is the harmonic balancer on the other end of the engine, especially if it's a stock type. These have a rubber section that fails after many years, and the outher ring will slip around and the damping effect is lost. The driveshaft can have a tiny ding in it or may have slung a balance weight. You should check these things. An easy way to check the harmonic damper is to just try to check the timing. If the outer ring has slipped, the timing grooves will not line up as intended.
