I remember buying a truck that had no dents and you couldn't even hear the engine. It was awesome. Somewhere along the way I aquired three dents and some headers. I have now ripped my exhaust off too many times to count. With the addition of my trailduster, the dodge is getting a total rebuild (back to where she was when I bought her). My truck will remain a work truck; pretty or not.

Does the factory manifold generate more torque on the low end? Who has a set in the garage? trade for headers? trade for other junk?

Never had any problems with them. I've only cracked the four barrel open four times in ten years (only had the headers for five). Of the four times, three of them almost killed me (sticky little s.o.b.). As I run on the low side of the block, I can't see how they could be in bad shape, there's no odd color or anything. I just want a torque monster with a sleepy exterior.

they came off a 440 that is now in a newport, i know the motor was in a truck before the newprot, i dont know if the manifolds are for truck though, sorry

The stock manifolds are center dump and look like this...the R/H manifold should have a heat riser built into it.
