Hi All have 85 rc  360 went to replace neg battery cable and cable is on bolt for air pump this cant be right anyone know the location on block or diagram or pic  of location Thanks

Any accessory bolt to the block or head is fine as long as it's clean and firm.

Usually they are bolted to an accessory mount on the head on the driver side.  On trucks equipped with smog pumps, it's very common for the ground to be bolted on there from the factory.  It's not critical though as long as it's a metal to metal connection to the engine and not near the exhaust or anything moving.

Hi Thanks 4 all the help cable is hooked to pump i thought that was not correct

  The pump is probably fine. Just a few more spots for corrosion and resistance to form.
