Lift kit or body lift?

1011 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  BrianT
Hello! New to the website and also a new truck owner. I recently bought a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 4x2. I would like to put 33in or bigger tires on it.

What modifications should I make to handle this? Suspension lift or body lift
What is the estimated cost?
What is the recommended gear ratio?

Thank you!! :)

Being a 4x2 and a newer rig as well . It is not gonna be cheap to lift . I f u can afford it lift kit is the way to go . I know most all the lift companies have a good 4 inch kit . look at www.4wheelparts.com for a kit . Body lift are cheap but combining the 2 is usally what most folks do after getting the lift kit then a body lift to clear bigger tires .

AS for gears hard to say but 33" s will make your rig a little slow on take off . If you want u can get some3:90 - 4:10 range of ratios .
AS to price i know it will be around 1,500 for the kit i am guessing .
