My 83' RC's 318 has a chronic leak at the water neck. It has an Edelbrock Performer intake and I have tried an original small bolt pattern and now a MPP large bolt pattern replacement and they both seep out the side, anyone else had this trouble in the past? Thanks

I don't have the Edelbrock but mine will seep anytime I change the thermostat. I have to use a gasket and silicone to get it to seal.

Try putting the gasket on the intake manifold and the thermostat on top of it? Easy mistake, I've done it before.

Yep-I used the original water neck with the edlebrock intake and it leaked. I switched to the water neck that came on the intake and it stopped leaking. The one I am using is much thicket and bigger than the original one.

I always had problems with the cheapy pot metal chrome water necks leaking. Went to cast iron and no more issues.
