I went out to drive the RC ('87 Auto) the other day. It had been sitting for a few days and noticed a large puddle of fluid. There seems to be a substantial leak just above the tranny pan somewhere. Any ides on what it maybe? Or how to fix?

Being just a a novice it looks like it is leaking from around the shift selector going into the top of the pan. If that helps!

Also, any good manuals with schematics of this particular tranny model (727?)?

Thanks

That's a common leaking point. It's a simple, but tricky fix. The seal is only a couple dollars. You might be able to rent a tool to install the seal front the parts store. If not, I used a long bolt, nut, washer, and a couple sockets to "press" the seal in on mine.
