...so Jim....really - what are your 'intentions' for this...'truck'?? Is this gonna be a sled-puller, mud-bogger, rock crawler...or just one man's way to just thoroughly slay anything that dares try you on the way to work? 😁

I've done the mud bogs, rock crawling & around here I think it is out of my system. but out west I think it would be a different story. Sand drags were a lot of fun & I always ranked @ or near the top for the yearly point system but those tracks have all closed. Ice racing was a lot of fun also but not enough ice anymore. They used to come from all over to Lake George & it also made it into the magazines but not enough ice anymore. I think it will be a bad ass truck that takes me to shows & to work every day.

We'll see but first I need to work on it & get it done do I can get the CTD RC going again.

Jim, you prolly remember how I modified my Wraptor main bracket to allow for very easy access to the heater port - how are you planning to 'do' yours? Meanwhile nice truck porn (y)

Hey Jim, it's not really a big deal but it's worth mentioning and I'm sure you could appreciate but as an amateur machinist myself here's one thing that I noticed with mass produced intake manifolds is that the injector bung castings make the injectors point straight downward causing the injectors to spray and soak the floors of the runners instead of directly at the valve like it should for maximum atomization. I noticed your intake points them straight down also. My buddy who made my intake on my Trans Am noticed that with commercial intakes way back in '95 and so when he modified my Edelbrock tunnel ram lower plenum he tilted the injector bosses at whatever degrees they needed to be at so they would properly point at each valve. When you removed the injector you could see the valve perfectly. It's probably why it had ultra crisp throttle response. It will obviously run fine but it is a detail that I noticed because when you look at any factory injected intake, the injectors are always pointing at the valves also. Again, just an observation for conversation. 👍

The first picture is my engine and the second and third are commercial - note the difference in injector angle. Notice how my fuel rail is tight against the runners but on the other one it sits far away. Notice the FAST system as the fuel rail is up against the runners also.
The fourth picture is the latest system from FAST (for an older Chevy) and it seems they saw the light and have now tilted their injector angles.

Looking at your heads more looks like you might be ok with the fuel spray as your runners look deep and long in the head area. It would be interesting to see if you can see the valve with the injector out. Again, this is just conversation, it's not meant to criticize. 👍

I talked to CVF & they did change the mounting point on the new kits. looks like I have an old kit so they said if I scallop out the spacer so the nipple clears the bolt it should be fine. I'm going to try that first.
We'll see.

INDY made the intake to go with their heads & they set it up for the injectors so I'm thinking it should work out good.
I'll keep you updated on how it works out but thank you for the input.

mmmmmmyeah - it isn't a great solution mate. I'd recommend asking very kindly if they'd supply you with the newer main bracket, maybe at a discount or some such - I think you will be a lot better off in the long run.

...you can also just weld up a mounting boss like I did and relocate the mounting tab yourself - just TIG in enough material, plane it flat, drill/countersink the hole, and yer good to go. While yer at it, I also highly recommend relocating the power steering pump - wait - are you running the GM pump or Mopar unit? Either way, can you completely remove the alternator without first removing the pwr steering pump pulley? If not, relocate the str pump mounts like I did and then you can service the alternator without doing anything to the pwr str pump.

To recap my mods, first the mounting boss to the upper water pump housing bolt -

Green - old, blue - new

Then, so get 'to' the lower alternator bolt, ya haveto relocate the pwr steer pump; from the first hash mark down diagonally to the second, and re-TIG -

...in order to access 'this' bolt, and therefore being able to remove the bolt, so you can remove the alternator without first removing the power steering pump/pulley, and you can still use the same serpentine belt. Otherwise this bolt is 'captured' behind the pulley...which results is lots n lots of swearing... 🤬 - I would save you that pain -

Thank you for the info!!!!!
I ordered the new plate right after i posted last night & they did give a discount. I am running a GM style PSC pump for my setup But need a spacer to push the pump back so the pulleys line up. More to follow.
