What kind of replacement do you folks think I should get for this joint? Also where can you get a good price on a steering gear box for a 83 RC?

I had a Borgensen on my `83 and it warked great, my `76 has a Flaming River and it's just as good. In my case the Borg. had 1 u-joint and my FR has 2, but that could just be the difference in the trucks. Can't go wrong with the quality of either in my experience, just which ever you can get a deal on.

O.k. heres what i did. I got a u joint off a steering shaft from a chrysler 5th ave at the junkyard. removed the box type joint (piece of sh*t) from the gearbox and cut the shaft off. I also removed the rag joint at the top of the shaft and replaced it with another ujoint. The Borg and Flaming River shafts are great but they are expensive. For 10 buck's at the junkyard and a small fee to a local weld shop you can have this done and get rid of a lot of these problems. I did this when i first got the R/c and was going to make a how to about it but someone else wrote one up right before I did its in the how to section.
