why a 305? It's hard to say no when it's either dirt cheap or free.

It's a great running truck. He's driven it all over the place. 6+ hr drives are no problem. I still haven't gotten a ride in it though

I can understand suspension components. I can also understand rear ends (plan on a 9" in my RC). But, Engines and trannys, the hearts of the vehicle, I don't. Why go half-breed? Especially with a Chev? If he spent 7 years building it, surely he could have found a dirt cheap 318. Or 383 for that matter. Hell, I got my 83,000 mile 76 cop 440 motor, tranny, tranny linkage, and Edelbrock Torker intake, among other things, for 500 bucks.

Its a shame, I was thinkin "Thats a sweet ass truck!" until I read further

if u do a dodge go big, 383, 400, 413, 426, 440. or u could go classic, use a poly 318 or a 354 hemi.

why would he make it look stock but ruin it with a 305 and mustang suspension?
idk about the motor but with old pick ups its eather a soild front end with little to no sespention or have a nice little ifs set up. Mustang II is a type of front set up i think that is sold buy fat man fab. Its not a front end off of a mustang.

Its called a street rod guys. Mustang suspension is rack and pinion and the front nose goes great under these trucks. Most of the time its a 350/350 with a 9" Ford rearend. My Dad has a 41 Dodge just about like that one...we're going to build it one of these years because it'll look awesome..total street rod. It'll be all Mopar because thats all we fool with but others might not like it but like I said before...don't listen to what others say...if you like it thats all that matters. It looks cool as hell!

Hey LoFrontier you got any other pictures of the truck? I'd love to see any pics..under the hood and inside and all..give us ideas for our 41 :)

I know where there is a either a 354 or a 392 Hemi sitting.. still in a truck.. That would be a much better home for the motor than just sitting and being forgotten about forever. Was considering grabbing it for in my RC.. may still.. never know. I wouldn't want to help myself and deprive the motor of a better home.
