Can you put a 360 crank in a 318? If so, what does that give you? Can you use stock rods and pistons?

The main bearing journals on a 360 crank are 2.81 in. the journals on a 318 are 2.50 in., so no, they're not interchangable.

Yeah it is possibe to build a 345, but why? just go out and get a real stroker crank and do it right, otherwise just get a 360

lol, I was giving info based on the fact that I don't have the money or knowledge to build a stroker or grind a 360 crank to fit in a 318.

Stock main journals are different, but with enough money and skill, anything is possible.

By the time you get done machining the crank and sending it all over the world you spent almost twice what a stroker costs, you still need a piston either way, just go buy a choice of stroker crank you want for your 18 there is 3 cheap choices now 3.58 3.79 and 4.00, there is 1 in between but that only seems to come in billet i don't know why

ED3 - where did you find these ? the only stroker kit I have been able to find for an 18 cost $1300. (I haven't looked that hard though !)

The 3.58 is just a 60 crank that is made for the 18 or 40 block journal size these are some of the more inexpensive cranks that MP has

3.51
3.55
3.58
3.60 i would play with this.
3.79 this.
4.00 and this.

The rest are for different things that no one here needs.

Some of those cranks are forged and some are cast, but all of those cranks are under $700 i believe.

Some companies are offereing kits with the 3.79 and the 4.00 stroke, if you look you may find others but i doubt it
