Intake Choices??

1674 Views 9 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  bigdog440
I have came across two different intakes a Edelbrock LD4B and a stock 4bl intake. Which one would be a better choice for my 318?

thanks.

The LD4B has 318-sized ports. The 4-bbl OEM will be of 340/360-sized ports, which will result in a mismatch. It'll run, but the LD4B is a better match.
Or get a nnice Weiand like i had awhile back . Granted is definitely for a mild to strong ly built engine . For a stocker the e-broack might be best for now .
Actually the stock intake flows just as good as the Edelbrock manifold..Dollar for dollar the stock one beats the edelbrock one up and down the road. I mean you can get a stock one from a j/y for under $50, versus a couple hundred for the Eddy.
Alright, call 1-800-230-3030 ask them which intake manifolds will fit on a 318. Tell them what your plans are, they will help. There are quite a few companies that make intake manifolds. Off the top of my head: Edelbrock, Offenhouser, Weiand, Trick Flow, Dart, Dorton, Brodix to name a few.
only 3 of the ones you named make them for mopars.lol. on a stock to mild 318 ld4b will do fine.

Isn't that one a single plane?

I was just rattling names off. I'm sure their are more than three out there.
Stock intake is not as good as an edel intake, and not a couple of hundred either, you have to remove quite a bit of material from the factory and it still isn't as good as any aftermarket intake
