In reading a post about what can be done to the 318, there is a comment about changing the springs in the distributor to a lighter set to allow timing to come in sooner. Is this also the case with the computer controlled setup ? Or will the computer dictate when spark will occur no matter what. Mine is a 1989 Ramcharger with 5.2 liter, all stock with TBI. I have a set of moroso springs that I bought for an HEI setup in my 1980 corvette but never used since I went to the Holley Sniper and Hyperspark setup. Just wondering if I could use those in my Ramcharger?

Your distributor does not have any advance in it, the computer controls all but the base timing. So nothing for you to change.
