Hello, I have a 79 power wagon. It was a tilt column, but I just switched it over to a non tilt of the same year, I also replaced the wiring under the dash from the same truck I got the column from.

It will not start in park now, where it did before. I have bought a new ignition switch, and that didnt do anything.
When I try and start it in park, it does absolutely nothing. When I put it in nuetral, it works like it should.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You might want to check the park/neutral switch that is located in the tranny. Hope this helps.

It would be either the neutral safety switch that fireeatr mentioned.. oe something as simple as a slightly misadjusted linkage or a worn bushing on the shift linkage.. I've experienced all three.. and all are easy and inespensive repairs.. Or just start it in neutral.. theft deterrant.
