its the 4 barrel carb.. and I cannot stick the lift plate.on the intake manifold. so that was out.. I heard there are four corners that I can hook onto 3inchs behind the carb for the rear and one on each side of the antifreeze coolant inlet of the intake manifold but I cannot find the hooks.

But I want should have said on the reply post....
is that its a 2 barrel not the 4 barrel carb. so the intake manifold lift cannot be done...sorry about that..

I will try the bolts from the intake manifold to a chain then...

Make sure your bolts are getting a good bite of the intake and heads before you put the weight on it. Keep the chain even or the engine will want to tilt when it clears the mounts.

i put a bolt through a chain link on the front and rear of the heads. the chains hung from a leveling bar. pulled out engine and trans together

I guees i cheated then! I took a couple of those metal loops off of a GM motor bolted them on and hooked my chain through them. Worked like a champ. LOL

I have used the bolt holes on the ends of the heads. One in the alternator hole, and one on the driver's side at the back of the engine (same hole, opposite side, opposite end). Works pretty good.

Dynamite was considered when I did mine, but only because of those top two coverter bolts. There must be an easier way but I never figured it out.

did ya ever think of putting tranny in neutral and turning converter so you could reach the other 2 bolts?
