Kinda random, but I took them, and thought someone might like them or even <gasp> be able to use them

Lessee, we'll do the custom steering shaft first. I cut just the spline end off the old shaft and welded it to the greasable U-joint ($35), then welded the square tubes (~$5) to the U-joint, then cut the rag joint off the old shaft and welded that on the end. Also stuck a grease nipple (~$.25) up near the rag joint that greases the slip joint.

So, it's
old spline | U-joint | square tubes that extend | rag joint end

I like the looks of that fan. Have you had a chance to try it out in the truck yet?

yeah, I've done a 20-30 minute idling in the driveway test, and an errands run to Home Depot / Lowes with 45mph max speed and many redlights, and the temp stayed good.

No extended highway test yet, but I can't imagine that wouldn't be fine.
