97 Dakota V8, 96000 miles, 5.2l. Got up this morning and battery was dead. No problem jumped it with the Jeep ran and acclerated fine, but the ABS and parkbrake light would not go out except when clutch was pushed in. Stopped and the engine kept hunting for idle. Anyway shut it off and battery dead, or so I thought. Checked it with volt meter, 12.7 volts. Hmmm. Checked the wire to the power distro block, 6.7 volts. So bad terminal or bad wire, also the hunting idle does not happen when connected to the Jeeps batt. Starts immediatly when jumper cables disconnected. It seems obvious but can a bad cable cause these other electrical glitches?
