Just thought I'd let you all know about an 80 RC in Vancouver a guy wants to get rid of. He's asking 450, needs some ignition work to run. I was real interested but my dear wife prefers I don't take on another project at the moment. The body isn't rusted up, bumpers, tailgate not pretty. The interior needs tackled. Looked like all the 4whl components were intact. Engine is a 318 w/two bbl.

If your interested, email me off line and I'll shoot you some pictures. I'll send this up to the "For Sale" board after you locals decide.

Smokin Gun,

The picture is on its way. If that perks ya I can send more but they are about a 1/2 meg each. If you'd like me to resize them down and your really interested I kick them your way. Ah heck I'll size em down anyway and send them.

I'm really blotting tears since I'm passing it up. It will be project though...I'd say an afternoon and a trip to pick a part a few times would have it on the road. By the way, at the Salem Pick a Part there's an RC with the front seats and rear bench. The drivers seat has a small tear but the others are real clean and I don't think a tear in them. The bases are off the front seats (I took them), but I have my bases here at the house and anyone is welcome to them. The drivers slide and the passengers latch were screwed up. I think the windshield glass may be good too. I don't know if an 80 and 86 are interchangeable.

He ebay'd it for a minimum 350 and nobody bid on it, but nobody looked at it either. I would have jumped on it at that price and took the beating from my spouse. I forgot when it closed and missed it by a half hour. That when I contacted him and went up to see it. I was trying to convince my son-in-law he needed a RC, but his mechanical abilities are mimimal and he prefers trucks with the blue oval (his pu sits full of spider webs waiting for me to come fix it) My dear bride thinks the rig looks like hell and doesn't want it on the side of the yard. She can't see my vision...even when I explained how we can take the top off, the wind in her hair, and the smell of the pines! I was reminded of how she had to drive our old 46 WIllys low hood to work everyday, and how many years we bounced through the woods together following a pack of bear dogs! I lost before I even opened my pie hole.

Greenbacks would probably talk. I'll get those other pictures off right now.

He just bought a new alternator, battery, ecu, cap and rotor and wasn't getting spark. I suspect he needs to check again through everything, I imagine checking to see if power is getting to the coil and go from there.

I emailed the owner and asked permission to give you his email address, a courtesy.

Time to go greet Mr. Sandman! I'll check emails in the morning. The guy that owned it before him sorta fogged the thing with black spray paint, I guess he was looking for the stealth look. :)

Hmm. Of course, that wiring is 23 years old, I wouldn't be surprised if it was getting a tad bit rotted...

Thanks!

I'll probably spray it black again as well. He probably used an acrylic enamel which is tough, but also would be a real pain in my hairy ass to strip off of there... I'd say some sanding, high gloss black enamel, new grill and tailgate, and she'd be about ready as far as the body goes. She'd need some custom bumpers too. And it just so happens my buddy has a nice tubing bender ;D

I've been wanting a 4spd truck for awhile, and, Ian, I think you know how hard I am on auto's ;D Can't break a 4spd. Pop top will be cool too.
