Howdy,
On both the positive and negative posts of my 76 RC battery, along with the usual battery cables and clamps are two other smaller (12 gauge) wires. The one going to the positive post has a fusible link on it and goes into the harness. The one at the negative terminal does not appear to be a fusible link, is about 7 inches long, and is attached by a screw to the chassis.

Should the 12g wire from the neg post to the chassis be a fusible link also?

If so, what gauge?

Thanks,

Mac

On the negitive side it is just the body ground the positive side shuld be the fusable link from the charging system (keep this im mind if you swap to a larger alt. it will be to small)

Thanks. The one that was on there had three crimp connectors on it and I wanted to make sure. It is now one solid piece of 10g braided wire with a soldered ring to the body.

Slowly upgrading the wiring here.

Mac

No, it's a regular hard wire. ;D
