Hey y'all..I can't catch a break. Finished hooking up my new 360, went to light it up ran into 2 things immed. 1) no signal from key to starter/ got power at starter/just no start signal and I just wanted to here it go with those 3" open headers so I used remote starter and cranked & cranked motor sounded good an tight even got oil pressure but no vroom,vroom. So I go and back track, spark etc etc, get to fuel none at carb, back to/ filter just a trickle. Trucks been parked since 9/03, fuel system open, 1/2+ tank. and I'm not sure w/ is supply w/ is return...HELP!!HELP!!Anyone w/ ideas or a stick of dynamite please respond I'm stumped.

sounds like it could be a bad fuel pump

Or clogged fuel filter, or pin holes in the fuel line not allowing enough fuel to flow to the pump, or colapsed or clogged pick-up in the tank!

is the carb new or used. i had the same problem and the carb just needed to be cleaned out and rebuilt.

that really couldnt be it if he was only getting a trickle in the fuel filter

Yeah, sounds like either bad pump or clogged filter. See what you get from the inlet side of the filter. If you get a good jet, replace the filter. If not, the pump probably has a ruptured diaphragm. On an '86 the pump is on the engine, on the passenger side of the timing cover.

Y'all might have missed the fact that I put a new motor in at the house. Think I've got the neutral safety issue solved but won't know untill it stops raining. Has'nt rained in two months untill I needed good weather. The ol ladys bringing a new pump today for $13. I ain't going to begin to guess, just start fresh. Like I said the trks fuel system's been open to the elements since sept 03, never expected not to have two days to install the 360 I built almost 18months ago. But RAMBUCTIOUS will live again
