truck is a '87 RC with 318 and dana 44 front with 9 1/4" rear. My front axle seems to click or almost sounds like it's cracking when i put it in 4H or 4L when taking turns, sharp or not. My first thought is maybe the front differential? but it seems to be coming from the right side. also sometimes when i get out of 4WD and make a hard right turn, it almost feels like the from wheel is going to fall off. Don't know if that's related or what but one more 4WD thing is sometimes it doesn't want to shift back to 2WD. It takes a lot of wiggling and going from N to D and/or R. Could it be vaccum leaks or something? Sorry about all the questions but i just bought this truck and am just getting started in 4 wheelin. thanks for any help!!

noises while in 4x4 are normal. the not going in to 2wd could be the linkage, and if the CAD is stayin locked that could be from vaccum or a broken CAD.

Drivetrain bind will also make shifting difficult. Try putting it into 2 wheel drive and backing up a bit. With a bit of practice you can do it moving forward by going into neutral and shifting quick.

The clicking sounds like the inner axle u-joint. Good time to grease the bearings too.
