Yes the divorcedNP205 "hangs" from its crossmember which mounts higher in the frame rails than other crossmembers. The divorced Rockwell T223 (W500/600) is the same way. This was the common way to mount them as Dodge had done it with the earlier t-cases (NP200/NP201) also.

yep, well as far as I know they are from unobtainium here in Europe, so I guess I need to duplicate one.

Here's a 205 crossmember pic that Elwenil posted elsewhere...

FWIW, those rubber pucks/washers sure look like the ones that showed up in my RC's poly body mount kit.

Thanks, I think I've seen that photo before.
micht be a hell of a job to reproduce one like that?!

Though is it then two cross members? one to support the 435 box, and one to hang the 205 from?

Yes, the 205 is mounted most 2 ft behind the 435, connected by a shaft propeller shaft.

Yes, one crossmember for each.

That fancy stamped piece is easy for the factory to pop out by the thousands. There's only 4 bolts that attach the 205. Google np205 divorced mount for more ideas.

The stock driveshaft on a light duty truck is just shy of 14" long, center of joint to center of joint.

My keyboarding is off again (shaft vs short).......I knew the intermediate shaft was longer than 1 foot & shorter than 2 feet. I guess I was visualizing my W600 shaft which is a tad longer than the light duty equivalent. It's been 9 years since I had a divorced 205.

I do recall that getting that crossmember for the 205 out & in from between the frame rails was a chore. Its rather snug.
