I need a big compressor I have a guy here at my place that is going to redo the black 77 we have.
For sanding with a DA sander, spraying and possibly sand blasting what should I consider?
I want 80 gallons but they are about $1100-$1200 with 5hp motors and $1900 ish with 7.5hp.
Should I step up to the 2k range or is the 5hp still plenty? Also who has the best value so far
I seem to see the best price at Tractor supply.
Shown is the truck we are starting with. Lots of rust repair etc being done.

Way back when, I had a  30 gal. Devilbiss compressor w/ a 2 hp. motor.  It did all the spraying I needed and quite a  lot of the sandblasting.  I don't remember what cfm the compressor was.

Might check Harbor Fright or Northern Tool to see if either has affordable alternatives.

The air tools like the DA sander takes a ton of air we have a 30 gallon now and it can't keep up with the sanding
so we need bigger for sure. Thanks PG

Be careful when sand blasting panels, too much pressure and the panels will distort.
