I need to patch the floor in my 76 D-100. Does anyone happen to know what guage steel was used in these things originally? I could borrow a sheet metal gage from work, but I was hoping someone might know. :-\

Well, no, I don't. If you're just going to 'fix the hole' most any good stiff piece of sheet will do...

The last one I did, I used metal signs that a church had taken down, cut what I needed to fit, wire brushed all the surrounding metal, painted it twice with "Rustoleum", then bent to match and pop riveted the new panel in, painted all of it again with rustoelum, and sprayed over the entire patch and vicinity several times with 3M spray rubber. That made a good looking patch that was not visible from the outside, and covered by the floor padding/mat on the inside.

There are stamped repro floorpans available to replace almost the entire footwell.
