When I was younger all I would use is Ugly Stick, don't know why.

What is the best pole for shallow wading and shore fishing?
i would say maybe a 5'6" medium action or light action of choice depending on what you are fishing for and type of water

i agree with the ugly stiks being good poles, i also use a light-medium 5'6" berkely, it has enough action to cast along ways if oyu want but also works well for light stream shore casting, or flipping short distances, i beleive i paid about $35 for it

I've had a Browning for about 4 years, and it's the best spinner real I've ever fished with. I mostly fish for Trout and Red fish. NOt very many big fish mostly around 14 to 16 if your lucky, but this pole works great. I believe it's a 6' and I only paid 25 for it at Academy

For trout, I use the longest rod I can find. Trout are soft mouthed and don't need a strong hook set. So you don't need a rod with a lot of backbone. And since you're throwing small baits, the extra length helps with casting. With bass or pike, you need a stouter rod to set the hook and to throw the bigger baits.

Low life worm fisherman can use their daughter's Barbie pole. Since they have no couth anyway. :)

we professional type fisherman, choose not to call it a worm or a nightcrawler, it is officially known as a no. 6 pinky, and retails for $9.95 at finer tackle shops. ;D ;D

You know the professional fishermen also clean the #6 pinky by placing in their mouth and then place them on the fish retrieving device (hook). ;D

well i use a st johns 9'6" fly rod, i enjoy the fly fishing so much, but the best pole i have ever had was a bamboo shoot with a string attached to it, they last forever and i have caught more fish that way than any other

yes but this only works if you use the proper degreasing liquid (beer) first, must dip no. 6 pinky in beer for 12 seconds then swish in mouth for 22.3 seconds then properly apply it to fish retrieving device

A professional fisherman would be better off swallowing that # 6 pinky and then tying on a silver/black Rapala to use as a fish retrieving device.

Eww, swish a nasty ol worm around in your beer? ;D

of course i am not that uncivilized, why do you think we have fishing buddies with beer?

as far as the rapala, i actually prefer mepps and rooster tails
