Hi all, I found a small block intake with the casting number 3871918AE and a casting date of 10/27/72. Can anyone tell me exactly what engine this was on?

Is it a 2bbl or 4bbl intake? Assuming it is a 4bbl, I'd have to say it came off a 340. Why? The 360 came out in
'71 as a 2bbl motor. The 318 of that era was also a 2bbl motor. I'm pretty sure the 360 did not have a 4bbl until the 340 was discontinued, in '74 I think.

273's had 4 brls and so did 18's in boats, a picture of the intake will be so much easier to go buy , but usually the good 340 intake said it ld340

It is a spreadbore 4bls intake without an EGR valve. Thanks WhiteRam I did'nt know that about the early 318, 360.
