My engine compartment is caked with dirt from previous "outings". I have an 1988 ramcharger with the 5.2L. I have alot of electronic components under the hood and I'm afraid of using water. I've used water before with not any real problems, other than getting the distributor wet, but I'm afraid I'm going to fry some of the electronics. Does anybody have any suggestions of things I can use?

I use the cleaners from the parts stores. Anything I'm worried about getting wet I wrap in a plastic bag.

Go to one of the car cleaning places and ask what they use.

i've washed my engine compartment out on my 94 several times with a power washer and never a problem. Just don't spray it directly at major electrical components
