The only difference if you are starting with lean burn is you already don't have a ballast resistor and can ignore those steps. In fact, it is really easy to convert a lean burn ignition vehicle to HEI. Get the relay, the standard electronic ignition distributor, and the HEI module. Connect the module to the distributor as is detailed in the article. Connect the HEI (+) feed to the coil (+) wire (or use the coil (+) wire as the trigger for the relay that feeds full battery voltage to the HEI module), connect the HEI (-) line to the coil (-) terminal. That's it, you are done. Alternatively, you can use the big fat black wire that provides power to the lean burn computer to power the HEI module relay.
