The magnet at the bottom of the pan was broke in half! It has 0 miles on it since the last time I dropped the pan and the magnet was fine then. Luckily I had another one out of a 904 laying around. But what would cause it to just suddenly break in half like that?

it could of been cracked before and you didnt notice it and the cold or the heat could of caused it to finish breaking or you got trills :)

I don't know what it was or why it happened. I'm just glad that I had another one laying around.

I think he is talking about the one that is on the plug. It's there to pick up small pieces of metal . I have one on my tranny pan and my oil pan.

No kidding but magnets will break down when they are submerged in any liquid for long periods of time but hell it was fresh and never run is what makes me see it as being super weird .

Well magnets are very breakable it just might have had a defect from the manufacturer or a little chip on it and it just broke from vibrations or stress from heat or somthing.
