Seems like there is going to be one. But I think it's driven by the media. Once they started talking about it on the news people stop spending and it snowballs. So to counteract this trend I have been spending every dime I have (or had) to keep our family clothed and fed. But I fear it's not jump starting the economy.
Now if the government would have given us, the American tax payer, all of those Billions of dollars wasted on the banking industry, GM, and our beloved Chrysler to first pay off our mortgages. That would give the banks back the money they needed and would loosen up my finances so I could afford a new Challenger for my summer car and a Subaru WRX STI for winter.
But what do I know. Good thing we have a big government to take care of us!

Everything is driven by the media including the government! While we have a big government to take care of us they count on us having big pockets to dip into. We are leaving our children with a huge debt the way I see it cause some smart a$$ accountant will keep finding ways to prolong repayment for  many years to come.
