Do any of you out there know what other options for transimission are out there that would work on a 360 or 440 engine. I want to know what transmission are available that are either a 4 spd or a 5 spd (overdrive) Thanks for the help, any and all details you can reply with would be appreciated.
Np 435 or the NV4500, but this would be better if posted in the Vechile help board you might get more responses. By the way welcome to the site. Good to have you aboard
well, with enough money, any transmission can be bolted up behind any motor. as far as a 440, the 727 is it without some type of adapter plate. the two best options for the 360 are the 727 and the a518 from 90+ trucks.
If you are going to run a bb i would sugest keeping the 727 and adding an overdrive unit to it. The 727 is a no-lockup type converter and is less likelly to fail. However w/o lock-up highway millage is sacraficed. If you are going to run a 360 Hughes offers a nice A518/46RE with all the goodies for around 1800, however switching to the A518 you would need a new converter.
