My rims look really bad after just a few years. There are plastic inserts in them that imitate chrom but mine got stains that can not be cleaned. I removed the wheels last year and gave them more time but the result was not as I imagined.
Do you know if they are available somewhere so I could replace them?

The effect on photos is after 15 min cleaning.

I would try to wet sand a small section with some soapy solution or baking soda then polish after. I’ve never done this before so don’t take my word for certain

Thanks for the tips guys. Cleaning them is not hard but time consuming and in a couple of years there may be nothing more left to clean. That's why I want a set of new ones just in case.
If only they were stainless and not some cheap plastic.

CLR maybe? If it's a buildup on the chrome it might work. If it is the deterioration of the chrome, give it a sanding and paint it the same color as your truck.

Looks promising. Just bought it on ebay, I'll test it on 2-3 months ;)

I got one good rust remover Nevr dull, works wonders on real chrome but not so do good on plastic chromes on the rims.

I used it on my bumper

The infamous rust that appears on the corners of those chrome bumpers. Seen on every make and model truck. It turned out great.
