I got a 1986 dodge power ram with a v8 magnum and it turns over but won't start i put a new battery, battery terminals, ignition control module, and the ignition coil and still doesn't start need help

So its ether ignition or fuel. 2 types of carbs came that year depending on if 5.2 or 5.9 so you gotta give more info. Pics of engine bay help the most

It got 5.9l v8 and carb is edelbrock carb

Is this actually a “magnum” converted to carb? Or is it a regular LA 360? First post says magnum 360

Its really a Magnum if just an older style it a first gen

The Magnum series of engines didn't start until '92 for the 3.9 and 5.2, '93 for the 5.9. A '86 model is a LA series unless it's been swapped.

And the 5.9/360 switched to Rochester Quadrajet in 1985, so I'm curious as to what all is changed.

While not related to your no fire issue, the front axle looks to have selectable locking hubs. In 86 only the Dana 60 would have those, the 44 would be CAD. Congrats on scoring a 60 if that is what it is.

If it’s really a magnum we need to know what kind of ignition they used to convert it, when I did mine I used the Mopar ignition from summit, but I’ve seen some real hack jobs when people do the swap. Can you get us some under hood pics

Good observation, but also keep in mind, many lock the CAD and install locking hubs. Or like a few of mine, I have the CAD still working, and have locking hubs. Why? because they came that way.

dont forget that l have a 1985 [ early ] RC that has NO cad and shift on the fly
