refused to honor an extended waranty on a part that was damaged from the factory. I bought a new motherboard/ chip combination and it never worked outthe box. i had the extended warranty also, btu they said "tough."
This is why it's always a good idea to buy stuff using a credit card. All you need to do is contact your credit card company, tell them the vendor is refusing to honor the warranty or authorize a return of the product, and they will remove the purchase from your account. They notify the vendor, who then has to contact you if they wanna change their mind and be fair in the conduct of their business. In other words, they don't get paid unless you get satisfaction. Don't feel bad about it either. Visa/Mastercard, and especially American Express understand all vendors are not always fair, so they will have no problem helping you out. This worked out great for me when I ordered a part from a company that tried to rip me off. Visa took it off my bill, and I was in total control when the company called me to see why I was upset. (and Visa charged the price back to them)
